SUBJECT
SOLUTION
Horizontal Output Transistor on
the U2000 and U5000.
The cure is to change D712 to a
germanium type diode. This will
limit the frequency drop and pro-
tect the Output Device. A gen-
eral purpose germanium such as
1N34 will do quite nicely.
PROBLEM
In some cases, operating the
monitor without the remote con-
trol board or if the cable is inter-
mittent or has a broken potenti-
ometer, can cause the Horizon-
tal Output Transistor to fail. This
happens because the horizontal
frequency goes too low and the
collector voltage on the H.O.T.
can exceed its rating.
CAUTION
It is recommended that the moni-
tor not be operated without the
remote cable or control board
attached.

WILLIAMS NINTENDO CONNECTION:
GooD FOR Co1N-OP?
'94
"VIDEO
GAMES" CONSUMER MAGAZINE!
ULTRA 64 NEWS: Editors met
with Nintendo of America's
faceman Howard Lincoln and
were treated to lots of free food
and mysterious talk about
Nintendo's plan for the future.
Lincoln confirmed that Ultra 64
is definitely set for fall '95 release
with the promisecl $250 price
point. He also casually men-
tioned that the Ultra 64 is ...
"more powerful than five 486
computers networked."
To produce a computer as pow-
erful as the Ultra 64 ten years ago,
it would have cost 14 million dol-
lars. Though Ultra 64 is cart-
based, there is a planned CD at-
tachment.
"Killer Instinct" and "Cruisin'
USA" will be available at launch
and there is a planned pack-in but
it has not been announced. Lin-
coln said that "Killer Instinct" for
Ultra 64 will be " ... better than the
arcade version." ( end)
COIN-OP FEEDBACK
Little information is available re-
garding this year's home release
of Williams coin-op titles. Opera-
tors need to know exactly what
are the differences between our
$5000+ cabinets and consumers
$250 game machines.
