NSMJUKEBOX
0PTO AssEMBLY (HECK PROCEDURE

SYMPfOM
NSM Error 73, 74 caused by lift
pin assembly (pickup, middle).
PROBLEM
On ESIV Technology Jukeboxes
error 73, 74 occurs but left and
right gripper opto's test good.
SOLUTION
When test points on IC 1 on the
driver board for the gripper
opto's are checked and the mea-
surements are taken (pin =#= l grip-
per left, pin =#= 15 gripper right...
see NSM worksheet) and found
to be ok, then the lift pin assem-
bly (white centre pickup pin) can
be suspected.
What happens is top of the ny-
lon pin wares down and the le-
ver that blocks the opto for
middle pick up gets partially
blocked. When the song is fin-
ished playing the computer now
thinks there is no tray in the lift
assembly. The lift assembly will
now lift till the end position opto
is unblocked and then tries to
reset the gripper motor back to
the home position. The operator
now finds the tray jammed un-
der the left or right side of the
rack.
FACTORY NOTES

Bensenville, Illinois
When checking your jukebox on
location and you do test the
opto's here is another tip you can
do to reassure that this compo-
nent is functioning properly.
The middle pickup can be
checked by lifting the lift assem-
bly halfway up (with the dis
racks out) and inserting a tray, by
hand, in the lift assembly. Cen-
tre the tray in the lift assembly,
then look under the lift on the left
hand side to make sure the cen-
tre pickup lever is fully blocking
the middle pickup opto. If the
lever is only half way into the
opto then it will cause problems.
Tests are performed to the unit
and the operator finds nothing
wrong. Therefore, in this situa-
tion replacing the nylon pin will
cure this problem (NSM part
=#= 173-603). See figure two for pin
and tray drawing and figure one
for work sheet for driver board.
