SETS PHILADELPHIA
Tech Library
AS CONVENTION SITE
FOR
The Greencastle office of Elec-
tronics Technicians Association
has announced Philadelphia, PA
as the location for the not-for-
profit organization's sixteenth
annual convention: Philadelphia
Wireless Technical Institute, 1900
Pine Street, will be the site for the
technical seminars portion of the
event.
Pete Honczar, CETma, President
of PWTI said: "Philadelphia
Wireless is proud to host the ETA
convention and we are happy to
see the international convention
come to the East after many years
of Midwestern, Western and
Southern locations.
PWTI has worked closely with
ETA as a part of the national
electronics technician certifica-
tion program committee and as
an FCC examination test site.
Since our primary business is
training technicians, conducting
the annual convention here is a
natural follow through". Mr.
Honczar is ETA's current Trea-
surer and was the winner of the
group's "Technician of the Year"
award for 1994.
Dick Glass, ETA's manager
(Greencastle, IN) stated that the
STAR* TECH Journal's
Tech Library comes
complete with every
service manual
published.
~95
dates for the ETA convention are
May 19 and 20, with the Board
of Directors meeting on May
18th.
For the first time since 1992, the
ETA convention will not be a
joint affair with the SDA - Satel-
lite Dealers Assn. SDA will con-
duct its own convention in Min-
neapolis in June.
A special feature of the Philadel-
phia ETA convention, in addition
to the two day Electronics Tech-
nician Seminars and Workshops,
will be a separate program to
teach LAN (Local Area Net-
work) computer installation and
troubleshooting.
This LAN Workshop is aimed at
helping technicians cope with the
intricacies of networking and is
to be conducted by Novel certi-
fied technicians from ETA's New
York City chapter.

SUBJECT
Raiden DX has proven to be a
excellent update to Raiden II.
The original Raiden four year
later is still earning good money.
NEW FEATURE
Raiden DX has an important fea-
ture not standard on other games.
By installing a button on Push 3
(24, 6) DX has auto fire.
ALL3
abtek recommends using all
Juttons: • Fire left • Bomb cen-
ter and• Auto fire on the right.
NOTE
The fire must be used to enter
high scores. These features will
give you the big collections you
need today.
MONITOR
This vertical game should be in-
stalled with a 25 or 27" monitor.
A few hundred dollars extra will
give you 20 to 30% more income.
Over 3 or 4 years, this is money.

SYMPTOM
When a coin is dropped in the
coin chute (when game is in at-
tract mode) the game is reset and
credit is lost.
SOLUTION
In location SC there is an
EAROM for saving data. This
part has failed and data is not
being stored in device.
NOTE
This is not a RAM device. Its
number is 28C16 (200ns). De-
scription of this device is an Elec-
trically Altered Read Only
Memory.
TEST
To see if this part is no good when
a replacement is not readily avail-
able, power game down, pull out
part, power back up. Note all set-
tings are lost, but game should
run without part.

SUBJECT
Regarding the September
STAR*TECH Journal article by
Joe Young on modifying Rowe
Link on CBA-2 bill acceptors.
NOTE
One must be aware that the CD-
100 & CD-lOOE phono's have this
modification on the computers;
that is the two 100 ohm, 1/4 watt
resistors for Rowel Link A and
Rowel Link B.
DE-MODIFY
If you have done this modifica-
tion on some of your older
phono's, and you put a newer
computer in the box, Rowe rec-
ommends removing the two re-
sistors from the Rowe Link plug.
