SUBJECT
Our new display assembly is com-
prised of two major components:
1. DISPLAY BOARD
64Xl92 DoT MATRIX
Todd Erickson
Summit Amusement
St. Paul, Minnesota
This Display Controller uses a
68000 Microprocessor. The pro-
cessor runs at a clock speed of 12
MHz.
Two 4 MB EPROM's support the
Display Controllers graphic capa-
bilities.
Part Number 520-5075-00.
This display has its own on-Board
witching Power Supply, which
fequires a 5v DC and 18v DC in-
put.
The 18v DC is used to generate
the required high voltage of
+68Vdc and -ll0Vdc.
The manufacturers of this display
are Cherry, Babcock and Dale.
2. DISPLAY CONTROLLER BOARD
Part Number 520-5092-01
JOURNAL
Due to the increased clock speed
with the 12MHz clock, the Data
Transfer Rate has also increased
aboard the controller, requiring
faster accessing EPROM's of
120ns.
The past generation of control-
lers used a 150ns 4 MB EPROM,
and cannot be used in the new
controller.
NEW MARQUEE
Samurai Showdown II appears to
be, perhaps, the best ever
NEo•GEo game. PastNEo•GEo's
have had the problem of letting
the player know when a new
game has been installed.
You can now get a dedicated mar-
quee for this game. Well worth
the investment. Contact your dis-
tributor.
PRICING
This game should go out on 50/
50 play. Pick up 50¢ play stickers
from your distributor when you
get your new game ( they should
be included).
TEST MODE
IMPORTANT
If you don't have a test switch, use
An EPROM of 120ns or faster
must be used.
#1 to go into self test. Coin set-
tings are in software. It only takes
a few seconds to change.

SOLUTION
Multiple balls in the shooter lane.
All 50 volt coils are inoperative
including the flippers. Auto
Launch Coil, Coil Sleeve and
Plunger Assembly may be dam-
aged due to overheating.
A modification to the Shooter
Lane Ramp should be made.
Lower the rear of the Shooter
Lane Ramp at the back panel and
move the front of the Shooter
Lane Ramp entrance as far for-
ward in the Shooter Lane Routed
Slots as possible. See Fig 1 and
Fig 2 pictorial layout of the modi-
fication.
The pitch of ramp is too great. In
most cases, as a ball is served into
the shooter lane, the Auto
Launch fails to shoot the ball up
the ramp. The ball returns, and
the Auto Launch attempts to re-
shoot the ball.

STEP
1
Remove all fastening hardware
from the Shooter Lane Ramp.
Remove ramp. Set aside.
If in Multi-Ball mode, balls are
STEP
served one after the other, ex-
pecting the shooter lane to be
free of the previous ball. The
Auto Launch cannot shoot eas-
ily 2 or more balls up this steep
ramp. This causes the Auto
Launch Coil to repeatedly fire, as
the balls roll back onto the
shooter lane switch which virtu-
ally causes the coil to burnout.
Drill new hole. (Fig. 1 ).
Another contributing factor will
be the pitch of the game -if leg
levelers are screwed out, the pitch
to the playfield ( and the ramp) is
increased.
STEP
2
3
Remount the ramp at the new
hole in the backpanel and refas-
ten ramp at the remaining 3 origi-
nal connections. It should now be
approx. 1/2 inch lower. (Ramp
should rest on the Mini-Mars lens
also attached to the back panel).
Ref. Fig. 1.
STEP
4
Position the front of Shooter
Lane Ramp as far forward in the
Shooter Lane Routed Slots a~
possible. Secure nuts. Ref. Fig. 2.
