SEPARATE THE WIRES INTO THEIR
OWN GROUPS.
august 1994
f your not ready to convert that
non JAMMA cabinet with a new
JAMMA game, you can still get
the cabinet ready to receive the
new JAMMA game. You can fol-
low the above instructions and
make a mini-harness to go be-
tween the non J AMMA game
and the J AMMA harness.
Route the wire groups along the
sides and bottom of the cabinet
to their final destination (see fig-
ure 1).
MORE PowER, ScoITv
Next install a new switching
power supply in the bottom with
a attached mini-harness in the
event of a failure it is quick and
effortless to replace (see figure 2).
,
Along with the mini-harness on
the PIS, I also make a mini-har-
ness for the coin door, service
switch. panel, and control panel.

When wiring the control panel I
pin out the mini-harness the same
from game to game. So if there is
a problem, the panel can be re-
moved or exchanged for another
until it can be repaired. Also with
the connection pinned the same
it is easier to troubleshoot (see
figure 3).

The power supply harness is
pined the same on all my games
for that very reason. And if the
power supply companies where
smart, they would make their
supplies with Molex connections
like on the new computer sup-
plies instead of the strip terminals
on the standard switching sup-
plies.
Figure 4 is a silk-screen for that
adapter, which· is availabl
through the Dynamo Corp. Part
#H-52. Also the Dynamo Corp.
has an even better Interface Wir-
ing Board. (see figure 5) Part
#1838B. The wire connections are
made by the "insulation displace-
ment" method, using a Wire In-
stallation Tool. part #H-35.
