MONITOR
Matsushita 19" monitor.
The problem remained, so we
pulled the board out for ship-
ment. Upon further inspec-
tion, resistor R2 (3 ohm
wirewound) on the PPB-1
board had a leg that worked
loose from the eyelet.
Resoldering the lead solved all
the strange problems.
Nom
So in conclusion, if you have
~ Y weird happenings with
-.Jata East pinballs, don't over-
look the PPB board for loose
components, connections, etc.
#1412
will not spill
The game would randomly go
into multi-ball and continue to
shoot balls out as soon as they
drained. It even stayed in
multi-ball when the game was
over! During all this the
knocker coil would energize,
as would other coils.
We contacted Data East and
were told to change the 6808
CPU and 6264 Cmos Ram, and
if that didn't fix the problem, to
send the CPU board in for re-
pair.

PROBLEM
Oh, no! The (119018-001)
steering wheel 10 turn, l0K
ohm 5% tolerance pot is bad!
Call your distributor and find
out this part runs any where
from $53.00 to $85.00!
SOLUTION
Don't get that part from a dis-
tributor (It's marked up clear
past the moon)! Get it from
Hosfelt Electronics, Inc. Their
part number 38-126 (page 69
of their catalog) for only $1.79
-only a dollar seventy-nine
and it's a 1 % tolerance! Call
toll free 800/524-6464.
CAUTION
NOTE
Be sure to watch your wiring of
this 10 turn, l0K ohm pot -
make your connections prop-
erly. Red (pin 3). Black (pin 1
ground). White/clear (pin 2).
The replacement pot is square
instead of round but it fits the
shaft correctly and it's sup-
plied with wire leads instead
of solder posts as the original.
