It is a nice thing and almost a
standard thing to put the anti-
drug abuse screen into a game:
"Winners Don't Use Drugs".
That's still fine nowadays ex~
cept that the director of th~ _
FBI is no longer William Ses-
sions. He was canned awhile
back. Don't you guys keep up
with current events?
SoLUTION
Putting the video message:
"Winners Don't Use Drugs"
without him as the FBI direc-
tor would be more accurate.
SUGGESTION
One thing I would like to see
instead of this recycling crap
messages video game manu-
facturers are starting to put
into the games, is what game
manufacturer Sente did some
years ago: They put pictures o~
missing children in the games.
Now that, in my opinion,
would serve a more worth-
while purpose .

REQUIREMENTS
All you will need is a switching
power supply with 12V, a
couple oftest leads and a mul-
timeter.
Check Transistor Q3.
Test Q3 (2N2222) with power
off. Place your multimeter on
the diode check mode. With
the red lead on the base, the
,~ollector and emitter should
nave a voltage drop of about
.6V. If not, replace the transis-
tor.
1)
Check Transistor QI & Q2.
These transistors are the
brake and drive transistors.
With no power to the board,
place your multimeter on di-
ode check. With the red lead on
the base and the black lead on
the collector you should have a
voltage drop of about . 7V and
without removing the red lead
from the base and the black
lead on the emitter you should
read about 1.2V.
2)
Note: You should always check
~Ql first. If Ql is bad, it will
_.,make Q2 look shorted.
Check the Optic.
You will need your 12V power
supply, a,nd your two k§.1
leads. Connect one ~ lead to
the 12V on your power supply
and the other end to the red
wire coming out of the ticket
board. Connect the other ~
lead to ground on the power
supply and the other end to the
black wire on the ticket board.
Now with you black meter
lead, attach it to ground on the
power supply. Tum the power
supply on and place your red
meter lead on pin 9 of the IC. It
should read about .2VDC. Now
block the optic and measure
pin 9 again -it should read
about 11 VDC. If this is not
true replace the optic.
4) Check The IC.
With everything still hooked
up, wecanchecktheIC.Pins9,
11 and 13 should have about
0VDC on them. Pins 8, 10 and
12 should have about 11 VDC
on them.
If you block the optic, pins 9, 11
and 13 should have 11 VDC on
them and pins 8, 10 and 12
should have 0VDC on them.
3) Now
If this is not true replace IC.

ADJUSTABLE
SYMPTOM
The sound is either too
loud or it's completely off.
SoLUTION
The audio potentiometer is
bad. Replace and verify.
REAsoN
The pot was probably bad
straight from the factory
(seems there was a run of
bad pots).
