CD REPAIR KIT
What is Audio Innovations CD Repair Kit?
It's a repair kit for Compact Discs, it repairs scratches and surface blemishes on CD's .
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
THE Krr
The kit includes two impor-
tant parts.
• The first is a non-alcohol
cleaner, alcohol is a solvent
and obtrusive, this cleaner is
not. This cleaner removes both
dirt and nicotine from ciga-
rette smoke, which often
causes CD's to skip or not play
at all.
• The second part of the CD
Repair Kit is two vials that
make up the repair part of the
kit.
The first solution smoothes
out the scratches and fills
them. The second solution
seals the repair to make it per-
manent. This is an advantage
over other type of repairs, like
waxes and polishes, because
it's a permanent repair that
doesn't wash out the next time
you clean your CD's.
The Repair Kit also includes
cotton balls (100% cotton only,
rayon/cotton puffs scratch
CD's) and a work pad (a piece
of foam) to keep the CD's from
sliding around while cleaning
and repairing them. The best
thing I like about Audio Inno-
vations' CD Repair Kit,
though, is that it works.
How To UsE THE KIT
The first thing to do is clean
the CD with the CD cleaner, by
dropping the cleaner on the
CD's and wiping with a lint
free 100% cotton cloth or 100%
cotton balls. Remember to
wipe from the center out, in a
radial fashion. Do not wipe in a
circular fashion, this is true
when cleaning or repairing the
CD.

The next step is to visually
inspect the CD for scratches
and abrasions or check the
jukebox's disk conditions for
skips.
Non-plays are usually caused
by dirty disks or a dirty LA-
SER eye on the player itself
( the cleaner can be used to
clean the optic lens of the CD
player also).
If scratches are present, apply
drops of solution 1 all over the
disk or where the scratches are
present. Take a cotton ball and
with mild pressure spread the
solution out to cover the whole
disk or the whole scratch (re-
member, wipe in a radial fash-
ion).
m
This whole process takes less
than five minutes and saves
you dollars. If your jukebox
has dropped some CD's, then it
may save you a bundle.
WHAT DOESN'T IT FIX
It will not fix broken CD's or
deeply gouged CD's. Any dam-
age to the media (the silvery
material), can not be repaired.
To check the media, hold the
CD up to the light, if you can
see light coming through, the
·:m■rm1s1u
media is damaged. It won't fix
warped disks either.
CosT EFFECTIVE?
You bet, $19.95 for the repair
kit, which fixes 30 to 40 CD's
and the cleaner cleans about
150 CD's. The cleaner can also
be purchased in a spritzer
bottle for $5.95 (two ounces).
Audio Innovations also sells
100% cotton cloths for $0.49 a
piece, these are the cloths the
manufacturers all recommend
but you can never find.
I like these cloths for cleaning
CD's better than the cotton
balls because they don't leave
cotton fibers on the CD.

WHERE To GET IT
Add more pressure and/or an-
other cotton ball until the solu-
tion is rubbed in completely.
Then repeat the process with
solution 2. Wipe or clean off
any remaining residue left by
the solutions.

I highly recommend this CD
Repair Kit, I have not had a
CD that I couldn't repair with
it yet. I've tried car wax,
Windex, and all those other x's
and this is the only one that
worked for me.
It also works on Video Disks as
well as CD ROM Disks for
computers. Gary is also look-
ing for Distributors for this
product, contact him for more
information.
