to the back door which are usu-
ally hanging on the hook pro-
vided on the coin door. After
helping themselves to all the
money, they took the trouble to
repair and re-lock the back
door leaving no indication of a
break,in. This thief showed
real promise in the thievery
trade.
INTIMIDATING LOOKS
There is a rather expensive
hasp available that protects
both the over and under doors
with only one padlock. It is
very nice looking and would
intimidate all but the most
determined thieves.
Making your hasp look intimi-
dating yet not unsightly is
very important. Apart from
the complexity of installing or
removing this hasp from a
game (and believe me you'll
want to remove it because it is
very expensive to replace),
there remains one major prob-
lem. It is attached with many
nuts to studs that are welded
onto the frame. At roughly 3
seconds per nut, with the right
bit attached, it takes a little
longer, but not that long, and
you know what comes next.
In my quest for the perfect
hasp, I tried many different
options and even had other
people in the lock business
propose custom designs that
were very expensive and still
questionable. Meanwhile, my
Street Fighter Ils and others
continued to be robbed.
