SUBJECT
The symptom is that on a Wells
Gardner 25" monitor, the display
is going dim. You can tum the
brightness all the way up, and if
you tum the HV up the picture
starts to fade. The monitor is
fairly new, only a one year old
model and you know that it's sup-
posed to last longer than this.
Leland Super Off Road
Many of you asked me at the
AMOA show why we've recently
changed the cable harness colors
in our system cabinets. This, I
understand, has caused you some
problems installing your kits, be-
cause the wire harness in the new
cabinets doesn't match the old
wire harness colors.

SUBJECT
There seems to be some confusion
as to which EEP (EEProm) to use
in which Super Off Road game.

CAUSE
The Wells Gardner model #7000
and on up monitors use a capaci-
tor-coupled RGB input, and if
your board has a lot ofV de bias on
the video signal it will "swamp"
the monitor input.

SOLUTION
If this is your case, (measure for
De on these video lines) try put-
ting 5K pulldown resistors on the
RGB outsputs from the Pcb.
NOTE
This last EEP (#252) has resis-
tors between pins 2 to 3 and be-
tween pins 3 to 4.

CAUSE
The changes in the wire harness
colors is due to the recently
adopted AMOA/AAMA stan-
dards as proposed by the AMOA/
A.AMA Standards Committee of
which we are a part of.
Pmu>osE
The purpose of this committee is
to set standards, throughout the
industry, on things like cable har-
nesses, joystick spacing, button
hole sizes, etc. on video cabinets,
as well as other common industry
products (much like the Jamma
Agreement) to make servicing
easier for you, our customers.
THE FUTURE
• Pinball Maintenance & Repair
• Monitor Symptoms & Solutions
• Troubleshooting Coin-Op Games
• Merchandising/Redemption Repair
Dynamo will continue working
with the Standards Committee to
help bring you a product with the
highest standards of quality, ser-
viceability, and reliability for
many years of trouble free use.
