WILLIAMS/BALLY PINBALLS
CUTTING OUT
Low LINE VoLTAGE
SYMPTOM
AP 110
SERIES
I have had a few calls on this in
recent time. The complaint on the
machine will be that it cuts out in
the middle of a game and says it is
"testing''. This problem will usu-
ally be very sporatic.

SOLUTION
The solution to this and other
ghost problems is line voltage to
the machine. When it falls below
108 volts the machine will experi-
ence some, all or a combination of
these problems.
AoTE
Check to see that you have proper
power to the machine (see "A
Closer Look" just before this ar-
ticle).
It is caused by low line voltage to
the machine. If the voltage falls
below 108 volts it will experience
this. This problem applies to the
WPC pinballs (Funhouse and
Harley Davidson and newer).
SOLUTION
NoTE 1
You can compensate by changing
taps on your transformer. Con-
sult your machines instruction
manual to do this.
NoTE2
When you move the machine into
a new location make sure you
check the line voltage again as
you will probably have to put the
transformer taps back to their
original position.
Remember, when voltage drops
below 108 Vac, these symptoms
will begin to show.
Williams in their quest to make
the WPC system the best has
made the job of checking easy.
The procedure is as follows:
• Power up the game and put it
into test mode (any test but the
lamp tests) and then locate the
power/driver board (it is the large
one in the head). On the power
driver their are a number of
LEDs.
• Locate LED #2 and #3. Here is how you can read them:
