PROBLEM
SOLUTION
We've had trouble with the Dy-
namo Air Hockey pucks jamming
in the scoring pockets. Our
pucks would stick in either !?ide
of the pocket eliminating the
microswitch as the culprit.
The fix that worked for us is to
remove the tin plate mounting
screws, space it out with 3/16"
of washers and remount with
flat head wood screws. The
head of the screw should be as
flush to the mounting ears as
possible.
CAUSE
The pucks are ac-
tually wedging in
between
the
cover plate and
the
mounting
ears of the tin
deflector plate.
There is just
enough space for
this to happen
occasionally and
cannot be ob-
served. When you
remove
the
cover plate to
see what's going
on, the puck will
dislodge making
diagnoses diffi-
cult.
This should eliminate the gap
between the tin plate and black
cover and prevent the puck
from jamming. I don't know if it
will solve all the Dynamo hockey
jams, but it's been trouble free
for us.

ANSWER
( es, medium resolution moni-
tors differ from the stc1ndc1rd
resolution monitors used in
video gc1mes in c1 couple c1rec1s.
For one, medium resolution
monitors use c1 different hori-
zontc1I frequency thc1n stc1n-

reason? Better resolution (of
course).
Yes, you cc1n ( sort of) convert
those medium resolution moni-
tors
to
"stc1ndc1rd"
frequencies.
