sure beats re-kitting every six
months and saves th.at cost of
doing so.
Seg.a has a new improved
Golden Axe. This one is called
Golden Axe Revenge of 01-Jath
Adder and has the same hori-
zontal scrolling graphics a~; be-
fore but many new improve-
ments. One big improvement is
the use of 32-bit graphics with
Seg.a's new Sega System 32.
Other improvements are: New
characters with new chci1r.ac-
teristic, much improved b·ack-
ground graphics, new game .ac-
tions (like lighting torches,
opening doors, and pickinia up
weapons), and different course
junction points to make every
game a little different.
The game has the same control
setup, a joystick and three but-
tons (magic, action, and jump)
but, it has a four-player model
this time.
There are new characters, with
the most interesting being
Dora, the half horse, half woman
Centaur tribe fighter. She has
one hell of a kick! Goan the Gi-
ants tribe warrior, who enters
the battlefield with a munchkin
named Gilius on his back, is also
intriguing. This was a well de-
signed game the first time and
the improvements make the
second generation even better.
Aero Fighters by Video Sys-
tem Co., Ltd. is another big hit.
We have one on a college campus
and it's been a good money
maker. This is an eight level, one
or two person fight game with
incredibly high tech weaponry.
There is a cast of eight differ-
ent characters/planes/weap-
onry. You'll see each plane has
different flying characteris-
tics and different weaponry on
board.
The game has a joystick and
two buttons (fire and special
weapons). As you fly and de-
stroy your enemies, you'll pickup
special weapons along the way,
and your plane has four levels of
power-up to keep you flying.
Your attacked from the air as
well as from the ground or sea,
the game plays great with two
players working as a team.
!rem. This game is based on the
real life Skins Game (TV golf)
where you must beat your oppo-
nent to collect the money, a tie
carries the money onto the
next hole. Money is right, this is
a steady money maker, and one
that will continue to make
steady cash flow.
The game also features stroke
and match play as well as Skins
Play. The greens are difficult if
your chipping is poor, just like
real golf. The stroke of the club
is not determined by holding
down a button. Instead, each
facet of the game: power, slice/
draw, direction, and club selec~
tion is down via a menu. So when
it comes down to hitting the
ball, you only have to concen-
trate on the spin meter and hit
the button.
The vertical scrolling and verti-
cally mounted monitor, allows
you to see oncoming troubles
readily and engage your special
weaponry, such as harpoon mis-
siles or napalm. This game plays
well without being unrealistic
and it's fun, too.
If you hit the ball in the rough
then you must play the ball out
of the tall grass, instead of
taking a stroke for hitting it out
of bounds (you still have to keep
the ball from away out of
bounds markers and water
traps). The game plays more like
real golf than any other golf
game I've played. Even the sand
traps are tough. Highly recom-
mended by this golf hacker. ~ ·
Another top notch sport video
game is The Skins Games by
See you next month in Prince's
corner.
