kits and location promotional
announcements ...

chassis is even easier to fit onto
your old chassis now ...
Microprose's
B.O.T.S.S.(BATTLE OF THE
SOLAR. SYSTEM) by Jaleco is
even more colorful and fun to play
with faster action than its proto-

Wait till you see Jaleco's beauti-
ful clouds in background scenery
on their new driver, GRAND
PRIX STORY ... it's a shiny hiney
you'll have when you climb out of
the constantly-vibrating drivers
seat on this one ...
Hantarex has a new 16 X 9 aspect
ratio picture tube on their latest
over size monitor (look out Ultra
Panavision) as they gear up for
HDTV with that wide screen
look ... the demo game was Super
Mario World, and you'd expect
distortion when you stretch a pic-
ture that wide -but there was
none ... plus with remote board -
mounted controls including both
vertical and horizontal size,
they're way out front with this
one ...
In other wide screen news,

Gang: COSMO GANG THE
VIDEO is a truly adorable two-
player shoot-'em-up with all the
action, music, and effects of
friendly and funny cartoon char-

the game ... Namco also exhibited
STEEL GUNNER 2, which has
plenty of tension and excitement
in a successful two player ma-
chine gun game ...
Romstar featured two unusual
items: POP SHOT, a cartoon
board change for your Operation
Wolf gun, as well as an Elevator
Action styledPIPI + BIBIS with a
cartoon stripper bonus if you're

Speaking of nudity, girls have
previously appeared in Poker La-
dies/Ca pcom, Gals Panic/
Kaneko, Super Pinball Action/
Tecmo, Puzznic/Taito, and now
can be found in the strip pool
department of Catalina Games
COOL POOL, which features

great digitized choices of music .. .
now if the cashbox gets as much
attention if the game did, they'll
be on the charts for sure ...
Capcom's heading back to the
bank with their sequel,
STREETFIGHTER II CHAM-
PION EDITION shipping dedi-
cated in the USA even as rumors
of parallels coming April 15th
bounce off the Red Baron Distrib-
uting booth walls ... you know Bill
Beckham (1-800-331-3766) hates
those dedicated games being
pushed on American operators if
other countries get kits and
boards ...
X-BALL by Rare showed at the
Capcom booth, a credit game that
gave you a trackball and 5
chances to guess where the miss-
ing soccerball in the on-screen
photo belonged.
Sega's SPEED SHOT was fun to
play ... 2-player head-to-head ball
shooting game with trackball +1
button for each player ... just
circle the foosball with your color
and fire at your opponent's goal...
Leprechaun's Bill Cravens had
plenty to smile about at his booth:

Bobble with a backpack vacuum
cleaner that sucks up the cute
bad guysj was fitted with a TIC,

points out that they come as-

graphics ...
Sorry we missed the fine folks at
Fidelity/Hitron and Randy of

Great games, fun times, and we
know that San Antonio's the
right place to be when we discov-
