PROBLEM
SUBJECT
My company received a Gilligan's Island pinball,
serial number 20003 760934, with a problem in
the left lock area. At times, the left lock solenoid
would kick several times before the ball would
release. The ball would bang around in the chute
and fall back to the left lock, scoring the left lock
valve each time.
We are getting ready to ship a retrofit cash box
bracket. This bracket allows you to lock the cash
box directly to the Time Traveler cabinet.
SOLUTION
After removing the Kona Mountain, I could see
the problem. At the point in which the left side of
the plastic chute meets the wood side piece, the
ball was wedging slightly under the plastic
chute, causing it to deflect to the inside wall of
the same chute. The ball would bounce around
only to fall back to the left lock.
GAMES AFFECTED
If you have a Hologram Time Travelerwith a serial
number ofless than 383170, you should install
this bracket. All games manufactured after se-
rial number 383170 contain the bracket.

NOTE
Williams/Bally told me that the wood side piece
should be notched so that the plastic chute
would have a flush flt. My side piece was not
notched. After notching the wood, the chute had
a flush flt and the problem was solved.
Expect to see this bracket by August 30, 1991.

SYMPTOM
SOLUTION
The ramp entrances are starting to crack and
break on the sides, probably from the ball
bouncing around the entrance on an indirect
shot. Is there a protection bracket available for
this assembly?
Funhouse had a retrofit set of steel ramp sides
made available about 4 weeks ago, contact your
local distributor for ordering information and
availability
NOTE
All games will incorporate steel entrance sides to
alleviate this problem in the future.
