SUBJECT
Converting series flippers on old Williams and
Data East pinballs to parallel flippers.

REASON
This will lower heat. which will increase coil life
and make the coil stay stronger during heavy
play.

NoTE 1
If you have a bad coil, you can just replace it with
a parallel coil. For Williams use #FL-11630 and
for Data East use #090-5013-00. And wire as
shown in Figure 3.

2
If you replace one with a parallel coil, replace the
other one at the same time or it will cause a
power imbalance.
NOTE
and · Secret Service.
If you have any of these pinballs, check for series
coils. In Williams the coil number is 04-0933 or
FL-23-600/30-2600, and in Data East the num-
ber is 090-5012-00 or 23-600/30-2600. If the
coil is already a parallel coil check to see if it is
wired correctly (See Figure 3).
PARTS NEEDED
• Two (1 for each coil) 1N4003, or ECG 116 diode
• Two (1 for each coil) 2.2 mfd 250 volt non-
polarized capacitor if needed.

1. Remove flipper coil from pinball (don't worry
about wire order).
2. Add diode across lugs 2 & 3. See Figure 1 (note
diode direction).
3. Replace coil in pinball.
4. Solder positive lead from backbox to lug 2. See
Figure 1.
5. Solder negative lead from cabinet flipper
switch to lug 1. See Figure 1.
6. Solder leads from EOS switch to lug 1 and lug
3. See Figure 1.

Practically eliminates table-side injuries!
Practically eliminates costly property damage!
Doesn't affect table play.
Installs in 15 minutes with only a screw driver.
*** ALSO AVAILABLE FOR U.S. BILLIARDS! ***
7. Add capacitor across EOS switch, if no capaci-
tor is present.
8. Clean the contacts while you are there.
9. Tie the capacitor down with wire tie.
