PROBLEM
SUBJECT
We purchased one of these units and brought it into
our shop for a location prep. After loading all the
CD's, I noticed the right woofer was not working.
As game PC boards get less power hungry, all of our
power is not required. Therefore, in order to meet
the minimum required load, we are adding a load
resistor to all of our universal systems. Now when
the game is shipped from Dynamo, the minimum
load is already met.
CAUSE
I swapped left and right woofers, still no sound on
the right. I then pulled out the CD players and
found that both wires going to that woofer, blue and
white, were cut clean through.
SOLUTION
It looks like the wires which hang loose behind the
players got caught under the players during trans-
port and were severed by the bouncing CD players.
A couple of wire ties at the factory would have
solved this problem. Check yours!
PROBLEM
On the Dragons Lair II game manufactured for
Leland by Dynamo, the problems experienced in
the field are minimum load requirement problems,
not defective power supplies. The total require- ' ~
ment for +5 VDC current on this PCB is 750 mA,
well below minimum load specification.
SOLUTION
To correct this problem, you need to attache a 5
Ohm, 20 watt resistor between the +5 VDC and the
ground. This will bring the current up to an accept-
able level. You may get this plug in modification
from Dynamo in approximately three weeks.
