Wms Terminator II
THE HUNT IS ON ...
Metal Ball Run

PROBLEM
In reference to Terminator II, and the blue rubber
pads at the end of the metal ball runs that fall off.
I don't think any glue will hold them on very long.
... For Your New Coin-op Customers!
Let STAR*TECHJournal'sMasterMail List help
you search for new customers. The List has
just been cleaned and is now available for
your rental order.
SOLUTION
What I did to ours is this: I went to a Dodge
dealership and purchased a door stop bumper part
number MB133590 at a cost of70 cents and used it
as a replacement for the blue pads.
This is the most accurate and comprehen-
sive mail list in the Coin-op Industry. All names
not responding to one of our mailings in the
last two years have been eliminated.
PROCEDURE
Installation takes about 20 minutes.
• When you are facing the machine as a player
would, remove the wireform on the right side by
removing the 5/16 nylon locknut by holding the post
shaft with a small 1/4 inch open end wrench and
unscrew the locknut with a 5/16 open end. Be
careful during this stage so as not to scratch any
plastics. • Carefully remove the wireform to raise
it from theplayfield to work on it.• Using a cordless
drill, drill a hole in the plate and remove any metal
burrs. This is important to prolong the life of the
rubber as the burrs will cut into the rubber after
time due to the impacting ball. • Pull the rubber
through the hole & replace the wireform. • On the
left side remove the wireform mount as earlier
stated & also the phillips screw just above it. •
Again carefully remove the wireform above the
playfield enough to work on it. • Drill a hole, pop in
the door stop and replace the wireform.
CONCLUSION
This is a permanent modification that should last
ten years or until the rubber dries out. I have a T-
2 that is 60 miles from our shop and I have made a
number of service calls for this particular problem,
using double face tape was not the answer. This,
however, has stopped these expensive 120 mile
calls.

Dynamo HS-13 Cabinets:
Notes & Precautions
Ken Williams
Dynamo Corporation
Richland Hills, Texas
SUBJECT
Some of you are aware of a few peculiarities in our
HS-13 universal cabinets. First, these cabinets are
intended to be used with horizontal kits only.
Second, there was a model change instituted by
Mitsubishi that has the capability to be set to power
(on) automatically without the remote.
PROCEDURE
You must have the model number V5007R in order
to do this. In order to access this option you must to
the following:
1. Unplug the game PCB.
2. Press the (menu) key on the remote.
3. With the menu on the screen, press keys
(0), (0), (8).
4. On this screen you have two choices:
a. LP (Last Power)
b. Hotel
Press Key # (1) to toggle LP (ON).
5. Press (enter) to lock setting.
6. Press (menu) to go back to the main
screen.
7. Press (menu) ~o go back to TV mode.
8. Select< EXT. #1 > as input and the TV will
stay set from now on.
NOTE
One major drawback to this is that there was a
slight modification done to the RGB drive circuits
that basically translates into a darker picture.
To compensate for the darkness, Dynamo has a
video amplifier to beef up the signal off the kits that
have weak video signals.
Also along with this amplifier will be a "Gen Lock"
device that allows you to shift the picture from the
upper left to the lower right without re-centering
the picture. This will help center the picture on kits
that are too far awaYfrom the NTSC standard that
the television is looking for.
IMPORTANT
DO NOT USE THIS AMPLIFIER IF NOT
NEEDED. DOING SO WILL SERIOUSLY AF-
FECTTHE LIFE OFYOURLIGHTTUBES(CRT).
As you might know, large screen televisions are ~
very susceptible to phosphor burns. This happens
because of the extreme brightness levels associated
with throwing a picture five to six feet on to a
screen.
Mitsubishi has taken steps to cut down a lot of this
burn with a special coating and phosphor mix.
REPLACEMENTS
Over time on games with a stationary background,
(ex: PACMAN), you will experience some screen
burn. When this gets extremely bad and you want
to replace your tubes, these are available through
Dynamo or your nearest Mitsubishi service center.
We at Dynamo feel that the Mitsubishi rear projec-
tion TV's are state-of-the-art and the best on the
market at this time. The impact of the system on
earnings of a kit are tremendous.
We feel that the trade off of problems verses income
are worth these incurred operating costs of these
systems. To minimize the burning of these tubes, it
is suggested that you choose your kits carefully.
