PROBLEM
Try to lock in the composite sync on the
monitor and all you get is garbage.
PROBLEM
No display, no sound, no logic.
SOLUTION
Most games today use the negative compos-
ite sync setup but when this monitor is
hooked up that way there is no sync. The
manual says that Pin 1 onjackCBisground,
Pin 2 is the negative vertical sync and Pin 3
is the negative horizontal synch. This is
incorrect.
CORRECT PINOUT
Pin 1 is the negative horizontal sync, Pin 2 is
the negative vertical sync and Pin 3 is
ground. This should take care of the negative
composite sync hookup. You will still have a
problem with the vertical sync lock in. As
with Hantarex's 9000 series monitors you
must not connect the negative vertical sync
Pin 2 to the negative composite sync line
from the game board.
SYMPTOM
Power up pin, and I get nothing. I scope CPU
and fmd no address on chip. Looks like
watch dog circuit barking. I call Williams
and they suggest possible bad blanking cir-
cuit check. I can fmd nothing wrong.
CURE
Out of desperation, I disconnect switch
matrix and power up - game comes up, huh?
Come to find out, someone had closed front
coin door slam switch.
Yeah, I know, this sounds dumb, but it sure
would help us techs (and operators) if Wil-
liams' programmers would give us a display
alert if such a condition has occurred in-
stead of shutting down the CPU and leaving
us sitting around scratching our heads!

SYMPTOM
NSM City WCombi & Galaxy full CD Jukes:
Meter P03/0 is the resettable coin counter,
with P03/ 1 being the non-resettable
counter. In fact, due to limitations in the
system, including the 16 bit processor, the
non-resettable meter will in fact reset when
it is "full." (Under our coin value and coin
channel allocation, it resets to zero when it
reaches($) 3276-80).
SOLUTION
So if you suddenly get a reset on P03 / 1
(without any other metering or program-
ming problems) it is most likely that the CPU
board is not faulty but that with your coin
value and coin channel allocation, you've
also blown the limit.
