Q.The following are things that I would like to see
on video games. (They are currently on new
Williams pinballs.) I would like to know why I
don't see them on Video games:
I.Varying difficulties for beginners and
experts. Pinballs can now tell the difference
and make the corresponding adjustments.
They make it more difficult for the expert
player in the same areas of battle.
2. Multiple options for difficulty settings so
I can adjust a game to maximize earnings at
each location. I don't mean number of player
or credits per coins because these seem
givens with someone else's down the street.
But more than just a single difficulty setting.
3. Problem indicators, such as the flashing
decimal point that indicates something is
not working correctly. This makes service
calls easier and makes it easy to check all
games quickly. It also will point out a prob-
lem that is not reported when I have a tech
at the location.
4. Better bookkeeping reports so I can adjust
the game accordingly.
5. Quick and easy self test capabilities.

With regards to the question on the adjustability
of video games for hardness to the player level,
beginner or expert. We try to control our game
play to be operator adjustable whenever pos-
sible. Most of the adjustments are made when
games are being tested for earings. We by to
make our games self-adjustable to prevent the
changes from having to be made by the opera-
tors.
Other factors are set by the players, in terms of
frequency of specific features, and the game
adjusts automatically, what are the features
that they want to play for? (it changes daily, I
wish I could forecast the players desires). This
would allow for easy fine tuning.
I feel that the bookkeeping and self test features
in the Williams Electronics games systems, are
easy and quick. What could be easier?

We agree that enhancing the difficulty, Bonus,
and Bookkeeping options available in our video
games would be beneficial to operators. In the
past. our products have had at least 4 settings
each for Bonus levels and Difficulty. This was
controlled by a Dipswitch package on the Main
PCB. The Test Mode was also accessible using
the Dip Switch.
