PROBLEM
As the Chairman of AMOA's Industry Stan-
How do I shift the picture of an Electrohome
GO-7 monitor farther than the pin adjust-
ments allow? While we're at it, how can I
expand the picture width beyond the hori-
zontal width coil max adjustment?
dardization Committee, I am very pleased
that STARflECH Journal has taken the job
of initiating and coordinating the "AMOA
Standards Compliance Checklist." James
Calore and S*TJ contributors will start rat-
ing the newly released games and the com-
pliance ratings will be released to the opera-
tors each month. This easy-to-do checklist
method has each manufacturer's game
rated by technicians throughout the USA
and the results are averaged.
SOLUTION
Try this, it has worked well for me.
It is my opinion that compliance levels willr"'"'""'-
initially be average for most of the manufac-
turers and that these levels will increase
over the next few years. It takes a bit of time
before our goal is attained, but rest assured,
the manufacturers are in favor of industry
standardization too. It will save them money
down the road, and we already know that
standardization does save operators both
time and money. The healthier is the opera-
tor, the healthier is the industry!
If any operators would like to take the few
minutes required to fill in the checklist be-
fore you put a new game on the route, I urge
you to do so. Your responses let us know that
the operators are behind industry stan-
dardization. Please mail the results to SflJ.
My next goal is to work closely with the parts
suppliers and develop standardized power
supply, monitor and control panel wiring~
features, as well as "AMOA APPROVED"
parts. Let's keep the trackball rolling! Stay
tuned ...
