PROBLEM
PROBLEM
We have occasionally received calls on our
Merit Pubtime Cricket games where the 1-4
PLAYER and the 15-B lights are out. The
problem has been with the 7 A switcher from
Penn-Ray. The 12v supply is missing.
Ball launch assembly does not eject a ball
with enough velocity.
SOLUTION
This is usually caused by either a cold joint
or not enough solder to one or both leads of
toroid coil Ll. Resoldering this coil corrects
the problem. I also recommend applying RV
silicon cement to keep the coil from vibrating
loose again (and it will).

Vertical Deflection

SYMPTOM
The problem I had was that the vertical
deflection on a Toei monitor was folded over
so bad that half the screen looked like you
were looking at it in a mirror.
SOLUTION
After much t'shooting, I fmally found the
problem. It was caused by C55 which caused
the vertical sweep to start in the wrong place.
After replacement with an equivalent ca-
pacitor, things were back to normal.
SOLUTION
Set screws in one or both wheel inserts is
loose or not tightened in flat of gear and shaft
assembly.
1. Tum game power off, referring to the
exploded view, remove in this sequence,
items 9, 21, 1, 3 and 5. This will now expose
item 6, wheel insert and item 7, set screw. f"",
2. Loosen the set screw for the wheel insert
Uiat turns freely on its shaft without any
resistance, carefully pry up the wheel insert
off of the gear and shaft assembly, item 11.
3. Observe the flat part of the exposed shaft
and reinsert the wheel insert so that the set
screw hole is aligned with the flat portion of
the shaft. Tighten the set screwwith a 5/64"
allen head right angle wrench. Rotating the
wheel insert now will also rotate the other
wheel insert. Tighten securely both set
screws and replace removed parts in reverse
order.
4. The procedure is now complete, power up
the machine and if any difficulties arise,
please feel free to call the Premier Hotline at
1-800-444-0761.
