Rowe Bill Changer
F.Y.I.
Sega just unveiled the world's
first four megabyte cartridge,
AFTER BURNER ...
Based on Sega's own coin-
snatcher... for home game
systems.
Evan Wessel comments: I believe manufac-
turers are placing more emphasis on their
home cartridges than on the Coin-op seg-
ment. This is their right, but it doesn't ex-
actly endear me to their companies.
~We are unwittingly providing the exposure
they desperately need for their consumer
games. Double Dragon is due to be released
for the Nintendo system and because of us
they'll probably have record breaking sales.
These new systems are not like the primitive
Atari 2600 or Intellivision systems of the late
1970's. Take a look at the home versions of
Ikari Warriors or Arkanoid. You'll be sur-
prised at how faithful to the original Coin-op
versions they are.
~What does this mean to the lowly operator?
Don't go out of your way to be supportive to
a manufacturer that won't support you.
Don't buy Play Choice systems, Vs kits or
any other overpriced home system with coin
• • slots. Forget about 2 years of decent collec-
tions if the game goes into the home in 1
year. That's my opinion ...

MODELS
This pertaines to the Rowe BC 11 and BC20
bill changer controller boards.
SYMPTOM
The board will not accept bills consistently,
or won't accept bills at all. A scope connected
to the maghead amplifier output (pin 8 of the
LM38 l) shows little or no signal, when a bill
is run through the transport.
SOLUTION
Replace C6, a 2.2uf@ 25V. It is located near
the LM38 l. At the same time examine C40
and C46, if they look discolored from heat
replace them also.
