BEAR CLAW MEANS BIG PROFITS!
A high volume machine that requires very low maintenance because of safe guards programmed into the unit. There

Tips & Tricks/ Atari POLE POSITION
Accelerator
Williams MILLIONAIRE Kick-Back
Switch Replacement
By Sam Wiles
By Vickie Holt and Johnny Wells
Eyler Vending
Frederick, Maryland
PROBLEM: Game starts with accelerator at
maximum with:>ut depressing accelerator
pedal and slows down when pedal is
depressed.
CAUSE: If the pedal is depressed on !X)Wer
up, the accelerator will work backwards
from that !X)int on.
SOLUI'ION: Just make sure the pedal is
cleared and not depressed. 'l\lm the game
off and back on again. Accelerator
operation should now return to normal.
This problem can occur if sorreone is
playing the game and an interrupt in !X)Wer
happens to shut game down and back on
again.

st. Louis, Missouri
PROBLEM: The upper left trough kick-back
micro switch sticks, becomes misaligned
and eventually breaks causing the
kick-back solenoid to operate
continuously.
SOLUI'ION: Replace existing micro switch
with standard two bladed leaf switch,
approximately 2" in length, which will
nount the same as the micro switch.
The leaf switch will provide a nore rigid
switch needed for that location, and
others, with the sarre type micro switch
used through:>ut the playfield.
Williams New Flipper Assy Update
By Todd Erickson
Sunmit Arruserrent
St. Paul, Minnesota
'lbe new flipper coils (re: last nonth's
article on New Generation Flippers) have
proved to be too strong on the upper
playfield. Williams is releasing a new
coil (FL-1172/SOV green label) for
replacement on the upper two flippers,
which will have less power than the
original.
caution must be taken with the replacement
of the new coil in older garres. The weaker
coil can be used in areas where the shots
are short. 'Ihe E.o.s. can be made to open
faster, which will also decrease the power
of the coil. As I install the new coils in
iey older garres, I will give
recornnendations of which coils work best
in each garre.
