First, determine what type of target
spider your game has and follow these
steps:
Step 1. Reroove the existing target decal.
~
Step 2. If your game has a recessed type
spider. immediately place the new target
decal in the location of the old decal. If
your game has an extended type spider.
continue on to Step #3 and place the
target decal on after Step #8 (last step).
Step 3. Recessed type spider: Place one
catch ring segment on the front of the
target in the location shown below making
sure that the outer edge of the segment is
tight to the edge of the decal.
Extended type spider: Place one catch
ring segment making sure that the inner
edge of the segment is tight to the edge
of the target spider.
step 4. Mark the three holes and drill
shallow pilot holes (0.25°/7nm deep) into
the front of the game.
Step 5. Fasten the segment using three
screws.

segment, it may be necessary to loosen the
other segments slightly so that they can
be adjusted to allow the last segment to
.fit in.
step 8. After all rounting screws have
been tightened, install the (12) rounting
hole caps. A good tool for this is a 0.25°
or 7nm nut driver. Place the cap over the
hole and tap it in using the nut driver
and a small hanmer.

Rotary Merchandisers Make Money
By
Frank 'The Crank' Seninsky

F.dison, New Jersey
Next to a crane, today's high-tech rotary
merchandisers are one of the best 'long
term' equiprent investments available. My
rotaries have been earing just slightly
less than my cranes (and their 'win rate'
is often less than 25%). I have a very
strong feeling that it will soon be
comoonplace to see a rotary in aloost
every location where a crane now exists
(if space permits). There will be several
single and 2-player, as well as the
'center hole' type rotaries shown at ACME.
I'll cover these after the show.
I have been operating and selling
Crorrpton's "Fantasy Island" 4-player
rotary for the past three years. It is an
excellent quality piece, but its cost has
increased as the u~s. dollar has recently
declined in the European markets. I have
been closely following the develoµrents of
three other 4-player rotaries: Smart
Industries' "Diaoond Mine", UAI's
"Treasure Island", and Gamemasters'
"Spin-OUt". The advantages and
disadvantages of each of these units
should be considered before making a
rotary purchase, as their respective
prices and features are quite different.
"DIAK)N[) MINE": This 4-player rotary sells
for just under $5,000. Fa.ch player side
has double coin mechs and wiring for an
optional bill acceptor unit. With the
reIOOval of 4 bolts, the top half of the
"Diaoond Mine" body can be easily
separated for efficient servicing. With
two sections an operator will never have a
problem getting this rotary through a
standard doorway. There are three prize
display shelf levels, instead of the one
or two levels found on corcpetitors'
IOOdels.
Several operator adjustable settings are
standard. The turntable speed can be
increased or decreased by turning a

potentiometer {pot).
*** Note that this is the easiest way to
adjust your 'win rate'.
A price switch allows for 1 play/quarter
and 5 plays for 4 quarters. Three options
are possible for the pusher arm:
1) the player can 'nudge' the arm up to
half-way across the turntable;
2) the 'nudge' can be set to work for 100%
of the arm arc or fully across the
turntable; or
3) the 'nudge' can be disconnected and the
arm will flow across the turntable when
the player pushes the 'arm start' button.
"SPIN-OU!'": This 4-player rotary sells for
under $4500 and is a little smaller {base
size) than both the "Diaoond Mine" and
"Fantasy Island". rual coin mechs are on
each player station and an optional bill
acceptor unit can be easily added. One of
the little extras that Garnemasters is
offering is one spare circuit board in the
card cage of each game. Fa.ch player
