Recently Nintendo received requests
concerning the eli■ination of the
attract ■ode 11USic in the lll6AN' S IUEY
and Dl£K tlftT gun gaas. Since the dip
switches for these t• ga■es were used
for other options, the option for
eliminating the attract ■ode 11USic NS
not included. Because of this, Nintendo
is now offering a progra■ change that
wi 11 re■ove the 11USic frcl■ the attract
■ode. This progr• change consists of
Just one EPIOI, llhich is used in
location 6D (or lD>, in each gun gaae.
The version nuber for the Dl£K tlftT
program is E-1, and for IIIBAN'S IUEY
it's E-2. These EPRIII' s are available
on an exchange basis through Nintendo
distributors.

This ■onth we' 11 talk about so■e
specific kits. The last kit I did ieas
TNK II I by Kit Korp licensed from SN<
of Japan. This game requires a vertical
mount monitor. PONer supply requires
+12, and +5 vdc. The kit does provide
you with all decals and marquee for the
cosmetics,
The instructions are decent, but the
edge connector pinout does not provide
for a coin mer. The scheutics are
xeroxed and very unclear so I couldn't
find any .eter connection there either.
The control assembly is a Joystick
with a knob that actuates a rotary
switch to deteraine the direction of
the cannon. The rotary switch is a
sealed unit, so Nhen it goes bad, it
will have to be replaced.
Another new kit is RUSH •n• ATTACK by
This kit is a horizontal ■ount
monitor with power supply requirements
+5 and +12 volts de.
As with most all Kona■ i kits,
instructions_ t11"L.eXL't!llent .1ri.th.-all.
decals and ■arguee provided, On page 2
they provide you with a list of games
that this board will plug into. Then
the only wiring to be changed 1muld be
the control panel, They do give you the
opt ion of dual control layout, but this
does not allON simultaneous play so I
chose not to use it,
Kona■i,
·This kit also provides you with a pcb
cage that is a new style ■ade of 32
point stem-stock Nhich is fire
retardant. I found this cage easier to
1mrk with and install.
See you next ■onth with ■ore tips,
