DISC BREAK-IN PERIOD
A certain amount of skipping may be noticed in
the first hours of use. This is normal and will
not affect the play of the game. As the game is
played, this condition will subside.
DISC CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Your new CED VideoDisc and VideoDisc
Player may require periodic cleaning. This is
evident when excessive skipping is observed
after the initial break-in period. The following
instructions will help in minimizing this
condition.
1. Unloading and reloading the disc into the
videodisc player cleans both the disc and
stylus in the player. In most cases this will
correct the problem.
2. If the above does not correct the excessive
skipping, you may flip the disc over. The
same material has been encoded onto both
sides of the videodisc.
1. Tum main power off.
2. Disconnect J3 from the IPU Board. (This
unleashes the player from the logic.)

indicating unload.
6. After disc has been removed, tum power

The player should NOT be allowed to sit idle
with the door open for long periods of time.

GALAGA PROGRAM PROBLEM
by Bill Johnston, Johnston's General Store, Buffalo, NY
If your players have discovered the program trick to disarm the Galaga
enemy bugs, order the 4-chip GALAGA UPDATE SET (no part
number assigned) for about $80.00 from your distributor.
Readers of the November 1983 JOYSTICK magazine learned to
"Shoot all of the bugs in a wave except for one of the two blue/yellow
ones on the far left. You can leave either one or even both, but it's easier
to leave just one, because your next task is to avoid the bugs' fire for up to
20 minutes without shooting them.
"After you have waited long enough, (anywhere from about five to
20 minutes ... ), the bug will stop firing. After he passes through the top of
the screen four times without firing, you can shoot him. From that point
on, none of the bugs will fire at you .. .
"After the bugs have stopped firing, the game is very easy. If you are
careful to avoid the bugs that cross off the bottom of the screen, you
should be able to last indefinitely ... "
