"LOST TOMB" SERVICE NOTES
By Jeff Young, World Wide Distributors, Inc., Grand Rapids, MI
Concerning the Stem "Lost Tomb" Conversion Kit
recently introduced, there are two problems that should be
corrected.
The first problem shows up as soon as the kit is
installed in some games of older design. If the monitor
shows a dark band running across the screen, changes are
the transformer needs to be changed to a newer, high
current unit
After a few weeks, if your unit goes dead, check the
screws holding the boards to the panel. Chances are they
will be too short for effective retention. They will need to
be replaced by a longer length screw, keeping the boards
fully seated in the RF .I. board
ATARI
"POLE POSITION" GAS PEDAL MODIFICATION
By Tom Jordon, Jim Schweigert
Nelson & Michael, Seattle, WA
Problem: Speed will not advance past 180 MPH.
Atari Recommends: Make sure the pedal is all the
way up before powering up the game, as well as keeping
the pot well lubricated This prevents the pot from binding,
which is a major cause of the pedal not returning to its
original position.

After numerous service calls on this machine because of
limited speed, we installed a micro switch in place of the
gas pedal potentiometer. The action of the game is
virtually the same and we haven't had a single service
call for this problem since! As a matter of fact, we
routinely perform this modification on all "Pole Positions"
when they're shopped for any reason.
