"VENTURE"
AUDIO/COLOR * BOARD
MODIFICATIONS
There is a modification recommended
for the "Venture" audio/ color board.
This is the board mounted on top of
the main logic board. The modification
is as follows:
1. Cut the trace to pin 5 on the
7 4 LS 7 4 at position 6D.
2. Jump the cut trace to 6D pin 6.
This modification should be done. If
not, there is the possibility that you
may at times lose various sounds from
your audio output. These sounds
include:
1. The "Hallmonster" when he
crunches the "Winky".
2. "Winky" going up to get his bow.
3. The sound of "Winky" going down
the steps.
MONITOR "JIGGLE"
AUDIO* INTERFERENCE
Does your monitor display seem to be
affected by the audio output? For
example, the louder the audio is, the
more the picture on the CRT seems to
be affected with a "jiggle". If so, read
on ...
The speaker wires on some games are
tie-wrapped incorrectly to the main
harness. Remove the tie-wraps that
hold the speaker wires to the monitor
harness and main harness and move
the speaker wires away from these
harnesses, tie wrap the monitor harness
and other back together for neatness
and also twist the speaker wires
together. Position the speaker wires
away from the monitor harness and
other harnesses and you should no
longer have any video interference
caused by the audio.

MONITOR* "BLOOMING"* MOD
A condition which is normally described as "blooming" has been found in some
15V2000 and 19V2000 chassis series.
This condition is caused by arcing within the high voltage rectifier connectors. To
cure this problem, follow the procedure shown below.
COMPRESSED
SPRINGS
1. Switch off AC power and remove the monitor from the game.
2. Remove H. V. cover secured by two screws.
3. Unplug the H.V. rectifier from its holders and inspect the holders to insure that
the springs are inside the holder. See sketch.
4. Replace the rectifier with a new rectifier W.G. part number 66X0067-002.
The leads of the rectifier must be cut and formed in the same manner as the
original.
5. Insert the rectifier firmly in its holders, banded side toward C.R.T.
6. Inspect the lead dress of the transformer H.V. wire. Wire must be dressed as
shown.
7. Inspect fuse F102 on main deflection P.C. board. The fuse value should be 1.5
amp.
8. Replace the H.V. cover which was removed in step No. 2.
