DUPONT MAKES NEW VIOLIN CHINREST OF LUCITE
A new violin chinrest made of "Lucite" methyl methacrylate
molding powder has a special quality of clinging to the chin when
warm to give the violinist a firm grip on the instrument.
The plastic chinrest is tough, extremely durable and light in
weight. Tt is said not to chip nor buckle under body temperatures.
Metal clamps may be fastened securely to the plastic. Musicians
say "Lucite" is more sanitary than hard rubber, ebony or varnished
wood, thereby diminishing danger of chin infections. The chinrests
are odorless and are said to resist body acids.
Musical equipment already fabricated from "Lucite" includes
illuminated orchestra conductors' batons, clarinets, saxaphone
mouthpieces and reeds for wind instruments. "Kleerest" chinrests
are injection molded of crystal-dear, amber and black "Lucite" by
the Patent Specialty Manufacturing Company of Chicago from
molding powder made by the Du Pont Company at Arlington,
New Jersey.

DEAGAN'S CARILLONS
SPREAD
AROUND THE WORLD
JOY
Despite the chaotic condition in which most of the world finds
itself these days, the people of America still find time to devote
to religion and music as shown by the recent installation and orders
for installation of Carillion by the J. C. Deagan, Inc. company.
These installations range from a Carillon of 25 bells for St.
Jerome's Church. Chicago. Illinois, with automatic electric player,
Westminster Chiming Device and Angelus Device to a 10 bell
Carillion for the First Presbyterian Church at Sanford. North
Carolina.
World's Largest Carillon To Honor Stephen Foster
Among the installations to be made is that of the Carillon from
the Florida Building at the Xew York World's Fair in 1939 and
1940. This Carillon is the largest and most modern in the world
and will be placed in the Stephen Foster Memorial. White Springs,
Florida, as soon as the campanile is completed.
With the completion of the installation of a 16 bell Carillon
for St. Mary's Church, Hudson Falls, New York, the J. C. Deagan
company will have made its 483rd installation which is nearly
twice as many Carillons as have been built by all other bell makers
