PEDLER MAKES IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
NEW FACTORY-DEALER POLICY ADOPTED
'Plie Pedler Company of Llkhart. Tiuliana, makers of "Custom-
built Woodwinds," has taken a step which they felt was neces-
sary and important both for their dealers and themselves. This
was done to protect the legitimate music merchants who handle
I'edler's fine instruments. This exclusive "Faetory-to-Dealer"
policy will be very beneficial to the music dealer by eliminating
the competition of any racketeering in the merchandising of these
custom-built instruments. Music merchants are requested bv The
Pedler Company to place all of their orders "direct" with the
Company.
It is certainly a misfortune for the whole music industry in this
country that there are some persons who are not music merchants
in the real and true sense of the term, and whose practices are so
detrimental to the regular trade. Pedler has made a necessary
move which will, no doubt, he a most profitable one; both for
the Company and the dealers.
HOTEL AND FASHIONABLE CLUB BUY STORYTONES
C. J. Kramer, proprietor of the C. J. Kramer Music Company,
Clary, Indiana, and a Story & Clark dealer, announced the sale of
two fine Story tones to the beautiful new Hotel Gary, of Gary,
Indiana; and to the fashionable Paddock Club at Hammond, In-
diana. Mr. Kramer is a director and the largest individual stock-
holder in the Gary Hotel.

Movie Talk
Mr. George W. Lawrence, vice president of The Baldwin Piano
Company, added much to the interest of the occasion by show-
ing moving pictures of the pianos being manufactured in The
Baldwin Piano Factory, Cincinnati, Ohio, from start to finish.
He gave a very enthusiastic pep talk. Mr. Jack Donaworth, Bald-
win's general traveler, also gave an informative talk.
Another prominent guest at the Luncheon, which was held at
the Prister Hotel, was Milwaukee's popular, musical young Mayor,
Carl V. Zeidler. an old friend of Mr. Huston. I'nfortunately, due
to a little change in the time, the Mayor arrived just after the
picture was taken and hence is not seen in the group.

"Our 1940 business showed a considerable increase over \ ( ),V)
and the goal aimed at by our store lor 1 ( )41 is a quarter of a
million dollars. One very encouraging feature is the large increase
in the sale of organs. We are distributors for Lstey ( )rgans. The
mam leature ol our business last year, however, was the heavy
sale of Acrosonic Pianos and Haldwin Grands."
