profile or the keyboard of the organ? This beautiful picture is a
splendid example of the commercial photographers' contribution to

A NEW NOTE . . .
young mans fancy lightly turns to thoughts of
,EMEMBER THE OLD ADAGE, 'In the spring a
love"
There are more weddings in the springtime than in any other season of the year. There are more homes
founded in the spring than in any other season. There is more activity in the human mind and heart.
Spring means new desires. It means new business. Everybody wants something which is born of the
very spirit of spring. People want new clothes, new homes, neiv furniture. New pianos, new organs,
new radios, new phonographs, new band and orchestra instruments of all kinds. And this intense longing
which spring produces for the newer, better things in every department of life is of real value to those who
are connected with the music trade.
Music is essentially the most important expression of spring, and it is therefore logical for the world
of music business to be benefited by the advance of the seasons. Probably no other group can render
a more natural and pleasing service to humanity during the spring than those connected with music in
its inspiring manifestations.
ft is satisfying to know that there is something in the music industries that is more than commercial, and
that this something expresses itself in life, harmony, and happiness for millions of people. Music
contributes as much as anything else to the enjoyment of humanity; music is a unifying social force in
its own right for all those who come under its influence. What one man said to me recently is very true:
"/ am in the music business not only to make a living but also because I enjoy it; and I enjoy it more
every year because my business helps people to forget their troubles and be happy."
Not only this man but everybody in the music trade is glad that spring is here to add its new note of
natural enjoyment to our constant note of business pleasure.
