EUROPEAN HEADQUARTERS FOR WM.
R. STEINWAY NOW AT HAMBURG
In changing his European headquarters from Lon-
don to Hamburg Mr. Steinway is located at a more
convenient point to give attention to the general
foreign trade of Steinway for Australia, South Africa,
several years had been his assistant manager, Mr.
John Eshelby. The Eshelbys have been associated
with Steinway in Europe for many years. The late
George W. Eshelby was manager of the London
house from 1912 to 1921. Two of his sons have been
at the Hamburg factory for quite a long time and the
third son held an office position in the London house.

Presto-Times Recommends
A Leading Music Print-
ing and Engraving
Establishment
Composers and arrangers of music, as
well as music publishing houses generally,
are interested in the mechanical produc-
tion and appearance of their composi-
tions and publications. So, it is quite
essential in placing musical compositions
on the market that first-class work be
done. First-class work, coupled with
liberal rates and prices, are essential
requisites in the production of sheet
music, music books, and other publications
of music.
In this connection Presto-Times takes
pleasure in referring parties interested in
placing music before the public, or ar-
rangers of music for bands and orches-
tras, to communicate with the great music
printing and engraving establishment of

India, as well as Great Britain and even Mexico and
Canada are supplied from the Ham-burg factory. In
fact, shipments to all countries are from Hamburg,
excepting the United States. Mr. Steinway turns over
the London branch house to the gentleman who for
Before this George Eshelby's father had been man-
ager of the London house up to the time of his death
in 1912, being succeeded by his son George W. as
above related. The present manager, John B. Eshel-

MR. JAGELS' RESEARCHES IN MUSIC
PRODUCTION
Mr. C. H. Jagels of Summit, N. J., a lover of
music and interested in musical development and the
development of means of supplying music, has in his
home many equipments for satisfying his musical
desires and aspirations. Mr. Jagels is taking full ad-
vantage of the newer development in the field of
radio recording and acoustics by having installed in
his home what is likely the most complete mechani-
cal musical plant in existence today. The outfit com-
prises an Aeolian, duo art organ, a Steinway grand
piano, together with radio and Victor reproducing
devices developed by Capehart. All of the syn-
chronized plant is controlled by the organist from
the console of the great organ.
NEW STAFFNOTE ROLL PROPRIETORS
Some time ago an inquiry was made as to the status
of the Staffnote Player Roll Company, Milwaukee,
Wis., which concern went into the hands of a re-
ceiver. The Staffnote Company has now been pur-
chased by Roesler, Hunholz, Inc.. manufacturers of
music rolls for automatic and reproducing organs.
All the Staffnote equipment for piano roll making
was purchased and the new concern is ready to till
orders and take good care of former Staffnote cus-
tomers.
