NEW MATHUSHEK CREATION MEETS WITH GREAT FAVOR IN CHICAGO
AS EVIDENCED BY SUBSTANTIAL SALES
The Spinet model Mathushek Grand, now one of
the regular line of instruments of the Bissell-Wei-
sert Piano Co., Chicago, is a distinct feature in the
beautiful salesrooms at 540 North Michigan avenue,
located in the Diana Court of the Michigan Square
Building.
The instrument has attracted unusual attention, not
only because of its novel form and construction, but
its fine tone qualities appeal to those of musical talent
and appreciation. The Spinet Grand was exhibited
at the association meeting in Chicago in June, at-
tracting much attention, and since that time has been
enjoying an excellent sale all over the country, as not
only has it caught the eye of Chicago's socially prom-
inent people but its tone has captivated them and, of
course, with all this the novel appearance of the
instrument has played its part, too.
At the time of the exhibit in Chicago many thought
that the Mathushek company had harked back to the
days of the square piano, but they found their mis-
take. It is distinctly a Mathushek product in every
sense of the word, and as a work of art fitting into
artistic homes is ideal. Indeed, it meets a demand
among decorators and designers, many of whom from
time to time throughout the country have gone to
much trouble to secure spinets in order to complete
some special decorative schemes they have been work-
ing out. It is bound to become popular, and it seems
that the Mathushek company have struck an excellent
lead.
The Spinet Grand includes among other things the
Mathushek patent tuning pin construction, full iron
plate, linear bridge. The depth is two feet, ten inches;
height, three feet, one inch, and width four feet, eleven
inches. The net weight is 415 pounds.
The presence of the Mathushek Spinet Grand in
the sumptuous display rooms of the Bissell-Weisert
organization makes a very happy combination, for the
Chicago concern is one of the most beautiful estab-
lishments of the country and the new instrument
finds there a fitting home.
