HOWARD TRAGEDY CAUSES REGRET.
The unfortunate tragedy ; n Los Angeles, Calif.,
Aug. 19, when Frank S. Howard was killed by his
son during an altercation between his father and
mother, was deeply regretted by many persons in the
trade who knew Mr. Howard when he was engaged
in the music business. Mr. Howard's father, Robert
B. Howard, familiarly known as Bob Howard, has
been in the piano trade for many years as traveler
and manufacturer. His son, Frank S. Howard, went

COMPETENT AD. EXPERT DIES.
Roy Rutherford Bailey, president of the Bailey,
Walker & Tuttle advertising agency in the Bell Build-
ing. Chicago, died on Monday of this week just after
arriving home from a week-end outing with his family
at Charlevoix, Mich. Some years ago while Mr.
Bailey was with the N. W. Kastor & Sons Advertis-
ing Co., 14 East Jackson boulevard, Chicago, he pre-
pared all of the Steger & Sons Piano Mfg. Co.'s
advertising that was used in Presto-Times, and he
was always prompt, accommodating and very efficient.
