The store of Charles M. Stieff, Inc., Washington,
D. C , is representative of the best and most pro-
gressive in the commercial field in that section of the

Guy -R. Smith is the manager of this store and its
very active corps of salesmen, all of whom know
Washington and vicinity like a book.
Mr. Smith has had long experience as a retail man-
ager in several cities. He was at one time retail
manager for five years for Otto B. Heaton at Colum-
bus, Ohio. He stated that the Washington Stieff
store had a gain in January this year over 1927 of
$7,000 in sales, $11,000 gain in February, and be-
tween $11,000 and $12,000 in March.
