FACTS ABOUT CASEIN
"The Truth About Casein" is the title of a booklet
issued by the Monite Waterproof Glue Co., Minne-
apolis, Minn, makers of waterproof glue in powdered
form. It includes the copy of a brief submitted to
the Ways and Means Committee of the House, now
meeting in Washington, to consider a proposed in-
crease in the duty on casein from 2 l /2 cents to 8 cents
per pound. This is said:

casein as well as the underlying economic questions
involved. Before your Committee agitation is taking
place seeking to increase the import duty on casein
from two and one-half cents to eight cents per pound.
The use of casein is effecting such wide and varied
interest, and the capital and labor employed is so
extensive, that it becomes an obligation upon law-
makers to give the entire matter earnest considera-
tion."
