PICNIC FOR OREGONIANS.
The employes of the Portland, Longview, Salem
and Eugene branches in Oregon of Sherman, Clay &
Co. held a joint picnic on Sunday, May 27, at Play
More Park in the Willamette Valley about half way
between Portland and Eugene. The Portland and
Longview employes left Portland in autos early in
the day, meeting their southern co-workers at the
park. The main morning; event was a baseball game
between the Portland and the Salem branches, the
I'ortlanders winning, 8 to 5. The game was followed
by luncheon, and an hour after all went in for a
sw'm in the two large outdoor tanks at the park.
The balance of the day was spent in dancing, the
music being furnished by a Victor Electrola which
was taken along for the occasion. A vote of thanks
was extended to George Fox of the Portland shipping
department who took care of the transportation of
the "eats" and saw to the cooking of the "hot dogs"
and other necessities for the comfort of the picnickers.
