The Period Drapery & Mfg. Co., New Albany,
Ind., reports a constantly increasing demand for its
fine and varied line of scarfs, cushions, covers, piano
throws and bench tops. The increased interest of
piano buyers in Period designs in pianos creates a
corresponding demand for Period patterns in uphol-
stered benches.
Period models in pianos call for corresponding
styles in benches, bench cushions, covers and scarfs
and the demand for such has created the specialty
house for these accessories. The Period Drapery &
Mfg. Co., New Albany, Ind., is a house of that kind,
which by efficient attention to the requirements of
the time, has achieved a position of prominence for
itself.
The New Albany industry is a large importer of
fine, artistic fabrics suitable to the demands of the
piano trade, and its manufacturing department is
operated in the up-to-date-way that assures products
to be appreciated by tasteful people. The company
makes scarfs, cushions, covers, upholstered bench
tops, piano throws and bags for small instruments.
The illustrated folders, which may be had on request,
are printed in colors and show the beautiful shades
and designs effectively.
The Period Drapery & Mfg. Co., New Albany, Ind.,
specializes in manufacturing upholstered seats and
upholstered panels in sizes to suit each individual
manufacturer. These seats are upholstered in care-
fully selected beautiful fabrics of mohair, tapestry,
plush, silk brocade, brocatelles, velour, etc., in both
domestic and imported weaves.
The bench seats and panels are carefully uphol-
stered to conform to body lines and the upholstering
is applied in such a manner as to absolutely prevent
it from slipping or becoming lumpy.
The company is always happy to send illustrated
folders and samples of the complete upholstered
tops or the upholstered panel.

The importance of the piano plate in the scheme
of piano construction is something acknowledged by
everybody familiar with the building of a piano, so
that the choice of a plate is a paramount considera-
tion with the piano manufacturer.
The piano plate, from the character of its manufac-
ture, early became a specialty with the O. S. Kelly
