GEORGE HAY DU BARRY
OVERHEARS HIS "RATING"
Statement of Passing Pedestrian Considered Reflec-
tion of Public Opinion, Says Seattle Dealer.
"I received the most wonderful compliment ever
received in my whole life tonight at 10 p. m.," writes
Count George Hay du Barry, the Seattle music dealer.
"Sitting at my desk close by our door, slightly open
for ventilation, while I sat meditating with my dog
upon my knee unseen from the door or windows, a
voice of a passing pedestrian's praise came to my
ears.
" 'One of the best stores in this town—it's run by
a count?' I listened intently, but could catch no
more as the man and his guests went by and I
dared not raise to look. I have heard many interest-
ing remarks in my chair at eve so seated, but this
hit the nail strongest on the head as the words 'this
town' emphasized the sentence.
"And I wonder just how many piano men have
ever heard such a compliment in our line who have
used so many lines of bargain advertising as poor me.
My headlines are black as coal and commercial to
the last drop of printer's ink the type will hold to
make them seen.
"My sales store is no salon, my feet are squarely
on the ground, my name now means business. As
sure as we are piano men the public likes the store
that beams with business enterprise; even flowers
have no place; they are found in undertakers' parJ-
lors and become quiet things more than business
under action.
"This bouquet of words were sweeter to me than
the draughts of nectar of our famous family flower.
They were said in a voice that was telling of the
show places of the town to some stranger passing
our sixty feet of windows full of bargain pianos with
low prices on plain cards.
"So there you are and here I am,
GEORGE HAY DU BARRY."

The policy of the Williams House is and always
has been to depend upon excellence of product
instead of alluring price. Such a policy does not
attract bargain hunters. It does, however, win the
hearty approval and support of a very desirable
and substantial patronage.
