ILLINOIS BAND TAX LAW.
The Illinois band tax law was passed by the Legis-
lature at its last session, in 1925. The authorized levy
under this law is not to exceed two mills on the
hundred dollars of valuation. To take advantage of
the law, each community must submit it to a vote
of the people, hence the large number of towns which
are voting on the proposition this spring.
