Special Manufacturing Methods to Attain Per-
fect Accuracy of Tune Are Features in
Production of the Fine Instruments.
One of the most useful instruments in the band or
orchestra is the French horn, which is considered an
absolute necessity with leaders eager for pleasing
effects. The instrument must have perfect accuracy
of tune to gain the favor of conductors and it is that
feature of French horns made by C. G. Conn, Ltd.,
Elkhart, Ind., that wins the approval of conductors
of leading bands and orchestras throughout the
country.
There are eighteen feet of tubing in the Conn
French horn and every inch of the length is perfect.
The unusual length causes many manufacturing diffi-
culties because of the small bore and the many turn-
ings.
"Absolute accuracy was never attained in any
French horn until the famous Conn hydraulic expan-
sion process was perfected and applied to their manu-
facture. Since this process is fully protected by pat-
ents, it can be used only in making Conn instru-
ments. That is why Conn French horns are meeting
with the highest approval in orchestras and bands
throughout the world," says C. G. Conn, Ltd., in
statement to the trade. "Perfect accuracy of tune
coupled with an ideally sweet voice make Conn
French horns favored by conductors who seek the
most pleasing ensembles, and their almost unbeliev-
able ease of playing makes them the standard of art-
ists who demand the finest instruments money can
buy."
NEW THERMIODYNE STYLES.
Appearing for the first time at the Chicago con-
vention last month, the new models of the Thermio-
dyne Radio Corp., Plattsburg, N. Y., have been
pushed forward in the trade. The new additions
are Styles T F 6 in the console cabinet with a self-
contained loud speaker and a console '5-tube set.
Harry Schoenwald, Chicago representative of the
Thermiodyne Corp., reports a steady demand in the
midwest section, and in view of the National adver-
tising campaign now under way, anticipates an in-
crease during the coming months.
