Kenneth R. McMahon, vice-president and secre-
tary of the McMahon Piano Co., Youngstown, Ohio,
has resigned and will move about June 1 with his
family to Los Angeles, Calif.
Mr. McMahon is a prominent member of the Na-
tional Association of Music Merchants and the Music
Merchants' Association of Ohio, and besides being
actively engaged in the business of the McMahon
Piano Co, has always taken a leading part in the
civic affairs of his city. He is a prominent member
of the local Kiwanis Club and the Monday Musical
Club.
During Mr. McMahon's association with the music
business he has made a host of friends both in
Youngstown and generally throughout the trade. Re-
gret at his withdrawal from the music business is
widespread. The McMahon Piano Co., in which he
has been active since its formation, is the local repre-
sentative of the Steinway, Jesse French & Sons and
other well-known pianos.
Mr. McMahon's future business plans are incom-
plete at present, but the next three months will be
spent camping with his son, Kenneth, Jr., at Big
Bear Lake, near Los Angeles.

CONVENTION REPORT
ON STANDARD PITCH
Technical Committee to Give Result of Ques-
tionnaires and Its Own Investigation
at Drake Hotel June 8.
The Technical Committee on Standard of Musical
Pitch of the Music Industries Chamber of Com-
merce, of which Charles Deutschmann is chairman,
which has been working on this subject for some
time, will hold its next meeting during convention
week at Chicago. Since the previous meeting ques-
tionnaires have been sent out to various manufactur-
ers in the trade to get the evidence concerning the
pitch now used so that the committee will be in a
position to make its report based upon actual
evidence.
Nearly sixty questionnaires have already been re-
ceived filled out and they are coming in daily. In
addition, the National Association of Piano Tech-
nicians is gathering information which will be made
available to the committee.
The committee does not expect to make the final
report at the convention as the mass of evidence is
such that a complete report embodying recommen-
dations will take much longer to get up than the
committee at first thought probable.

dent, Shirley Walker, Sherman, Clay & Co.; first

A dinner preceded the meeting, which was largely

cess and stability of the association and tentative
plans announced assured active interest in legisla-
tive and trade matters during the ensuing year.

Sacramento, Calif., is president of the newly organ-
ized Music & Radio Trades Association of Sacra-
mento. Other officers are C. T. Lundlee, vice-presi-
dent, and Charles T. Owens, secretary-treasurer. The
advisory board consists of R. A. Bowden, E. R.

The manner in which the various branches of the
music trade and the radio trade were represented

that the new association would grow in numbers and
in influence in the commercial life of the city and
particularly in affairs of the musical instrument trade.
Addresses were made by James T. Black, E. L. Berg,
