PHONOGRAPHS IN MEXICO.
The American phonograph has a monopoly of sales
in Mexico, according to Warren Ulrich, assistant U.
S. Trade Commissioner at Mexico City, Mexico, who
reports that all the well known American makes are
handled. American records also enjoy what is prac-
tically a monopoly. The majority of dealers have in-
augurated a system of credit.
INVENTS NEW TONE ARM.
A patent has been granted to Burr B. Blood of
Chicago for a unique tone arm for talking machines.
The tone arm which is said to differ materially from
all existing tone arms, has been secured by the Jewel
Phonoparts Co., Chicago.

TALKING MACHINE MEN MEET
Big Eastern Association of the Trade Holds Enjoy-
able Gathering at Cafe Boulevard, New York.
The Talking Machine Men, Inc., met Wednesday,
October 17, at the Cafe Boulevard, Broadway and
41st Street, New York, when the A. J. Stasny Music
Company demonstrated the latest hits. The Will-
mark Service System told members how to stop
worrying over stock shortages, and Miss Isabelle
Lowden informed the meeting of the new music edu-
cation plan now in vogue in the city of New York.
There was also a general discussion of much-interest
to the trade.
The forthcoming dance of the association is sched-
uled for November 21.
"Those who participate in our meetings are bona
fide paid up members. We have, however, 79 who
owe one year's dues and 26 others who owe from $25
to $45 each; making a total of $2,160," was the infor-
mation conveyed by E. G. Brown, secretary. "Action
will be taken on the members in arrears for two
years or more. If you are included in this bunch,
won't you please send your check to the secretary,
or bring it with you to this meeting, thereby getting
the full benefit of your membership, which includes,
luncheons, good fellowship, business helps and enter-
tainments."
