A VOCALSTYLE REMINDER
Cincinnati Music Roll Makers Adopt the Postal Way
to Stimulate Orders for Hits.
The .Vocalstyle Music Co., Cincinnati, this week
mailed a postal reminder to dealers. In the effort to
further stimulate orders this is said:
Did you ever hear the old wheeze about "Trying It
on the Dog." Well, this little quip means quite a lot.
Actors, playwrights, song writers and composers
know full well its import. If an act, a play or a song
makes good after being "tried on the dog" its success
is assured. Gentlemen and ladies, we are telling you
right here, and now that this wonderful waltz song
"Down Pensacola Way" rates one hundred per cent
as an assured seller. In lyrics, in smooth harmony,
in rhythm, it's charming and beautiful—and, say, just
hear our wonderful arrangement in Vocalstyle.
The same goes for "Lazy Dreams."
We know! We've made the test! We made the
f<
try" above mentioned.
SUCCESS THROUGH ROLLS.
The following advice is given on a postal sent to
dealers by the Vocalstyle Music Company, Cincin-
nati: "Mr. Dealer:—Real success is rarely won over-
night. It is not a mushroom growth. The present
commanding position of Vocalstyle is the result of
years of hard work and study of the needs of the
trade. We have grown steadily, surely and solidly
from the day, years ago, when we made the first song
rolls ever produced. • Vocalstyle song rolls are the
only interpreted song rolls and are superior from a
constructive and musical standpoint. Their price
assures the greatest value to the buyer. Comparison
tells! Value sells!"
A GOOD PLAYER ROLL.
In our opinion, the best popular number that has
come to notice during the past month is "Dreamy
Melody," Vocalstyle Roll No. 12508, says the Gul-
bransen Bulletin. It has an odd air, a good swing
and is not like the other popular songs of the day. It
starts off with a good introduction, played in the
bass.
