AMERICAN PIANO SUPPLY CO.
Character for Promptness in Forwarding Orders
Well Known in Factory and Repair Shop.
"When in need of supplies communicate with us"
is a familiar reminder and invitation on the station-
ery of the American Piano Supply Company, 110-112
East 13th street, New York. And it is a suggestion
promptly acted upon by a big list of old and loyal
customers.
The need of supplies with the tuner or repair man,
for instance, may be urgent on occasions. The char-
acter of promptness in filling orders and shipping
goods in the supply house is then a determining fac-
tor in choosing the place to send the order to. At
such times the American Piano Supply Company is
chosen because of its dependability in the urgent
case.
The house carries a full line of materials for pianos
and organs and keeping the lines complete is the
pride of the department managers. Everything in
felts, cloths, hammers, punchings, music wire, tuning
pins, player parts, hinges and casters are carried.
FOREIGN PHONOGRAPH MUSIC
Excellent Opportunities for Large Sales Provided
by Handling Gennett Records.
Discos Gennett en Espanol is the name of a leaflet
issued to the trade for distribution by dealers by the
Starr Piano Co., Richmond, Ind. The Spanish Gen-
netts are sung and played in that deft, light and airy
fashion after the manner of all things Spanish. These
are all by well-known Spanish artists and are inter-
preted with true artistic appreciation of the many
beauties of the melodies. They add great charm and
variety to the Gennett Foreign Library.
Another notable success with the Starr Piano Co.
is the list of Welsh records recorded in Wales and
England. The records are sung in Welsh, and phono-

graph owners to whom this class of music appeals
will welcome them as a new addition to the reper-
toire of Gennett records. These are the songs of
Wales sung by native Welshmen in their own coun-
try and are thoroughly characteristic of the country,
its people, their manners and customs. There are
tenor and baritone solos, a variety of numbers by
male quartette and songs in both solo and duet.
There is good melody and appealing harmony in
the list of Gennett records in the German language
and those who understand German will find some
good selections to add to their library of music.
However, whether one can understand them or not,
these splendid records by real musicians are fine addi-
tions to any record collection.
The Gennett records in French have a big sale in
Canada as well as abroad. But phonograph owners
generally and Gennett record patrons here are always
glad of fhe opportunity to add to their musical library
Gennett records in French. These are songs of good
popular and standard music constituting a novel de-
parture from the regular releases and make an inter-
esting list of very enjoyable selections.
The list of Italian records in the Gennett catalog
is a long and alluring one. The band numbers are
particularly fine and in these the Banda Siciliana,
Creatore's Band, Jusillis Band and the Orchestrina
Siciliana have performed the best work. The list of
foreign Gennett records is not complete without men-
tion of the Jewish Gennett records, which command
a big sale with fortunate dealers in certain neighbor-
hoods in the larger cities.
CONCISE TOOL AND PART LIST
Circular No. 578, Issued by Hammacher, Schlemmer
& Co., Should Be Procured by Every Repairman.
An excellent thing for the piano tuner and repair-
man to have close to hand is the Circular No. 578 is-
sued by Hammacher & Schlemmer & Co., Inc., New
York. The booklet has a full list of the tools and
materials needed on all possible occasions by the
man who tunes or repairs pianos. The advantages
of having this ready means of locating lists of com-
modities required with their prices will be appreciated
by the busy tuner or repairman.
The booklet is small, but the list is extensive and
contains everything in hardware, felt and tools re-
quired in repairing pianos and playerpianos. Action
parts, pedals, casters, keys, pins, nails, screws,
punchings, springs, tubes and tubing and other parts
of the piano and player and tools that make the
work of the operator easier: Drills, hammers, knives,
nippers, oilers, pliers, planes, punches, screwdrivers,
scrapers, tongs, spacers, tweezers, wedges, wrenches,
etc.
The booklet also shows the lists, descriptions and
prices of the celebrated imported F & G (Felten &
Guillaume) steel music wire for which Hammacher
& Schlemmer & Co. is the sole agent in this coun-
try. The attention of tuners is particularly directed
to the genuine Fly Brand tuning pins carried by the
company. The continued prestige of this brand of
pins is due solely to quality. They are made from a
specially drawn wire by men who have done nothing
else for a lifetime.

CREATING A WOOL MARKET.
Plans for making Chicago the greatest wool dis-
tributing center in the world was discussed at a con-
ference held there on September 10 and 11 by the
leading bankers of a dozen states and representatives
of 45,000 wool growers in the west and middle west.
Chicago now handles 90,000,000 pounds of wool a
year. The plan contemplates delivery of contracts
by western growers to the National Wool Warehouse
and Storage Company there for a term of years and
a more orderly and uniform distribution in the vari-
ous states, thus eliminating duplication of work.
