MAHOGANY SUPPLY NOW AMPLE
Importers at Meeting in New Orleans Launch Cam-
paign Against Imitation Mahogany.
The prospective buyer of a piano in a mahogany
case or of a phonograph in a mahogany cabinet can
hardly miss a mahogany fact to be broadcasted by
extensive advertising'.
Importers of genuine mahogany at meeting last
week in New Orleans decided to appropriate a large
sum for use in a campaign to educate the public that
the supply of that wood is now ample to meet the
requirements of the wood-using industries at reason-
able prices.
At the meeting referred to in New Orleans,
with practically every importer of genuine mahogany
represented, it was decided that in view of the fact
that genuine mahogany is plentiful at reasonable price
the public should be educated to be on the lookout
for the unscrupulous dealer who misrepresents furni-
ture made of inferior wood as genuine mahogany.
This announcement was made:
"A 'large sum has been appropriated for use in a
campaign to teach the public that genuine mahogany
is obtainable at reasonable prices and that it is
plentiful and to be aware of dealers who misrepre-
sent. Besides the publicity approportion, $15,000 was
appropriated to be used throughout the country in
the purpose of furniture as evidence where retail
salesmen misrepresent furniture to traveling investi-
gators."

WILSON DRUM GUARANTEES
The Advice, "Order Through Your Dealer," Has a
Meaning Drum Customers Understand.
CONN SAXOPHONE DESCRIBED
"Order through your dealer" are the directions of
the Wilson Bros. Mfg. Co., Chicago, to the profes-
sional or amateur drummer requiring a drum or any
accessory of the drummer. That advice suggests the
manufacturer's assurance back of the dealer. De-
pendability is a main characteristic of the drums
and drummers' accessories manufactured by the Wil-
son Bros. Mfg. Co. Every sale is covered by the
Wilson Guarantee, which means that the ultimate
consumer is assured complete satisfaction or his
money back.
But it is rarely the money back privilege is re-
sorted to by the customer who buys a Wilson drum
or any of the accessories of the drummer. When a
man buys a Wilson drum he gets the finest product
that money and skill can produce. For this reason
the dealer unhesitatingly recommends Wilson drums.
"Order through your dealer," is advice that takes
into consideration the convenience of the customer.
It is easy for the drum customer to go right to the
dealer in his town and see any Wilson model dem-
onstrated. If the dealer does not carry a particular
model required he is always willing to order it, by
telegraph if the requirement is an urgent One. The
Wilson Bros. Mfg. Co. will decide upon the quickest
means of shipping the order. The dealer is not any
more anxious to satisfy his customer than the Wilson
Bros. Mfg. Co. is to satisfy the dealer.
All good music dealers carry Wilson drums so it
follows that satisfaction is assured all along the line.
From the smaller dealers in little towns to the big-
gest dealers in the great cities dependability in Wil-
son drums is, the belief. In the big factory at 218 to
222 North May street, Chicago, is a capacity for the
manufacture of 150,000 drums every year. Wilson
drums and drummers' supplies have a world-wide
distribution.
History of Instrument and Part of C. G. Conn, Ltd.,
in Development Told.
The special booklet devoted to a description of
and testimonials for the New Wonder Saxophones
of C. G- Conn, Ltd., Elkhart, Ind., is suggestive of
great opportunities for the alert music dealer. While
primarily designed for stimulating the dealer trade,
the booklet is of intense interest to all amateur and
professional saxophonists. It is a valuable guide to
the opinions of users of the Conn saxophones, people
who set down their, views in writing. The booklet,
at the same time, contains a brief history of the saxo-
phone, of its inventor, Antoine Joseph Sax and of
E. A. Lrefebre, the artist who first featured the in-
strument in this country.
Of course the part that C. G. Conn, Ltd., had in
the development of the saxophone is told in the inter-
esting booklet. Today the saxophone departments of
the C. G. Conn factories are equipped with the most
modern and highly efficient machinery that inventive
genius can contrive and money can buy.
All the models of saxophones made by the com-
pany are described in the booklet. Everything, too,
is pictured from the smallest, the B fiat soprano, to
the biggest, the sarrusophone. This latter contra-
bass built in E flat has been manufactured only a
short time by the company, but bands everywhere
are now being equipped with the instrument.
