MAKES UKULELES EXCLUSIVELY.
The Rivola Mfg. Corp., 565 Cortlandt avenue, New
York, firmly believes there are still good possibilities
for business and profits in the manufacture of uku-
leles exclusively. The company's faith in the field
convinces it that the year 1923 will exceed all past
years in the sales of the little stringed instruments.
Anyway the company has provided itself with the
facilities for turning out good ukuleles in consider-
able quantities. Some of the new models introduced
by the Rivola Mfg. Corp. have attractive novelty
features.
NEW RECEIVER NAMED.
The Circuit Court at Grand Rapids, Mich., has
ordered the dissolution of the Michigan Phonograph
Co., Grand Rapids, and has made Henry W. Kno-
blanch receiver, with authority to continue the busi-
ness for one year. The receiver may close out the
business within that time if he considers it advisable
and after proper application to the court. Last week
the resignation of William Van Sluyters, temporary
receiver, was accepted by the court.
FIND STOLEN SAXOPHONES.
In search for 30,000 stolen cigarettes in Watertown,
N. Y., last week, police discovered two C. G. Conn
saxophones stolen recently from the Paddock Arcade,
where F. E. Bellinger had them on exhibition. The
saxophones, valued at $175 each, were discovered at
the rendezvous of box car thieves suspected of steal-
ing the cigarettes.

THE CELEBRATED
Hammacher, Schlemmer & Co., Inc., New York,
Prints Big List in Little Circular.
The person outside of the piano business is sur-
prised at the multiplicity of the parts required in
making or repairing the instruments. So the unin-
itiated are amazed when turning over the pages of a
catalog of a house like Hammacher, Schlemmer &
Co., Inc., New York. Even Circular No. 578 of that
company, which is compiled especially for the tuners,'
repairmen and dealers, contains lengthy lists of inter-
esting things for the active ones named.
The first item mentioned in Circular No. 578 is the
genuine Fly-Brand Tuning Pin, which tuners and re-
pairmen everywhere agree is a dependable com-
modity. Speaking of these Hammacher, Schlemmer
& Co., Inc., says:
"The continued prestige of Fly-Brand Pins is due
solely to quality. Made from specially drawn wire,
by men who have done nothing else for a lifetime,"
wire absolutely uniform in size and perfectly round;
countersunk holes, always the same distance from
end of pin; every detail watched minutely, they are
as near perfect as brains, money and skill can
produce."
But Hammacher, Schlemmer & Co. has the same
pride in the other commodities in its long list of tools
and materials provided for tuners and repairmen.

TALKING MACHINE MEN MEET
Big Eastern Association of Phonograph Trade Has
Enjoyable Time at Cafe Boulevard, New York.
There were big doings and hearkening to much
glad tidings at the meeting of the Talking Machine
Men, Inc., Wednesday, April 18, at the Cafe Boule-
vard, Forty-first street, near Broadway, New York
City.
J. Newcomb Blackman of the Blackman Talking
Machine Company spoke on a subject of great inter-
est to the trade. Harms, Inc., demonstrated their
latest musical hits, and nominations of officers for
the coming year interested members greatly.
The association in meeting discussed the following
amendment to the constitution and by-laws:
"Article 8, Section 5: (a) The Application Fee of
this Association shall be $10, and accompany each
proposal, and the dues shall be $15, and shall be
paid by each active and associate member in ad-
vance, dating from April first of each fiscal year.
"Article 7, Section 1: (b) The secretary's salary
shall be $900 and the treasurer's salary $100."
The Entertainment Committee has completed- the
full list of artists who are going to provide entertain-
ment at the annual ball, which is to be held on
April 25. "If you have not sent your check for ban-
quet reservations, please do so at once, as the seats
are going fast," was the suggestion of Secretary
E. G. Brown. Reports of the many committees
which are working for the good of the trade were
submitted.

amount of money it will earn when used on a coin

Judging by the number of voluntary commenda-
tions received from users of these famous rolls, there
is a "something" in Clark Orchestra Rolls that tickles
the public palate.
RADIO HAND-ORGAN APPEARS.
The piano-organ wheeled about on the streets of
London as the hand-organ is in New York has met
a competitor. Considerable amusement has been
caused in the streets of London by the appearance
of a man, a donkey and an old piano-organ case
mounted on wheels. Above the old case extend two
uprights about four feet high, and from them arc
stretched four wires, the antenna for the radio set
which has replaced the organ, in the antique case.
Hanging from the side nearest the curb are four
sets of phones, and for 2 cents anybody can listen
in to the concerts picked up from station 2LO and
other broadcasting stations throughout the British
Isles. The novelty is labeled "Radio Barrel Organ."
NEW LYON & HEALY MANAGER.
C. H. Flint, the new manager of the musical mer-
chandise department of Lyon & Healy, Inc., Chi-
cago, is well known in Chicago business circles as a
man of great originality as well as activity in his
sales methods. He was formerly sales manager of
the American Chicle Co. Mr. Flint's predecessor in
the small goods managership, E. J. Exter, has been
appointed Lyon & Healy representative in special
work on the Pacific Coast.
NEW PIANO REPAIR COMPANY.
The new firm of Roeslcr-Hunholz, Inc., 133 Second
street, Milwaukee, Wis., was recently organized to
specialize in the repairing, rebuilding and tuning of
pianos and playerpianos. Fred W. Roesler is presi-
dent and Elmer H. Hunholz, secretary and general
manager. Both have long and valuable experience in
the rebuilding and refinishing of pianos and installing
player and reproducing actions.

moving master record in the form of short and long
lines which later become perforations under the sharp
punch of the master machine. Nine other composi-

he is playing, a ten-tune roll.
