Throughout the Country.
Mrs. Flora D. Smith was elected president of the
H. J. Smith Music Co., Racine, Wis., at a meeting
held recently. Other officers elected were Henry G.
Keiser, vice-president, and Louis E. Shaw, treasurer.
H. F. Curriveau is a new man on the sales staff of
the P. A. Starck Piano Co., Detroit, Mich.
The John G. Schuler Co., Inc., 1394 Main street,
Buffalo, N. Y., has added a talking machine depart-
ment under the management of E. F. Doherty, for-
merly manager of the Utley Piano Co., which recently
closed out its business.
The New York headquarters of Hamburger's Music
Salons, Los Angeles, are at 448 Fourth avenue.
Cheyenne, Wyo., celebrated Music Week this
week.
The Winter Piano Co., 516 Grand avenue, Milwau-
kee, has provided new demonstrations for the Bald-
win line of pianos and players.
The Baker Music House, Inc., 52 North Pearl
street, Albany, N. Y., is holding a sale previous to
remodeling its building.
The sale of the Pathe Freres Phonograph Com-
pany, a $5,000,000 concern now in receivers' hands,
set for last week before Federal Judge Garvin in
Brooklyn, N. Y., was adjonured until Oct. 27. Wil-
bur Hall, attorney for receivers, said creditors who
claim $3,000,000 approve a proposed reorganization
for the manufacture of radio sets.
