UP TO THE CUSTOMER.
In claiming that its prices are "nationally known
as the lowest in the United States," the J. W. Jen-
kins Sons' Music Co., Ft. Smith, Ark., in the news-
papers says to the hypothetical piano prospect this
week: "We leave it to you. If some friend or ac-
quaintance insists that while Jenkins have 'some'
good pianos—that other stores have better pianos or
as good pianos for less money—we challenge the
statement and say you are justified in thinking that
there is a commission offered by the other dealer.
The commission paying dealer will give the 'friend'
who turned in your name a commission when you
buy, whether or not the friend is present at the
sale."

TO BOOST FRENCH TRADE.
A scheme to provide France with an extensive
market or commercial fair, which is estimated to
cost about $30,000,000, is being considered. A huge
palace is to be built in Paris on the right bank of
the River Seine, sufficiently large to accommodate
5,000 firms. It will be interesting to our readers to
note that this is a private enterprise by Frenchmen,
and that there is a possibility of this scheme being
put upon an international basis.
